Recently, Zhilin's senior partner Mr. Zeng Di and his team prevailed in 3 patent infringement cases before Zhejiang Ningbo Intermediate People's Court issued three civil judgments with a total damage of RMB 2.6 million.

The plaintiff, a company in Zhejiang province producing automobile parts obtains exclusive license of the 3 concerned patents regarding automobile seats from its parent company. In 2016, the plaintiff as well as its parent company found that the defendant infringed the concerned patents by producing the same product, and entrusted Zhilin to provide relevant legal services on this matter.

Because the plaintiff and the defendant failed to reach an agreement on the amount of compensation and other issues, Zhilin filed a civil lawsuit with Ningbo Intermediate People's Court. During the lawsuit, Zhilin lawyers expressed their opinions regarding the defendant's infringement actions, comparison on technical features and the amount of compensation, etc. Finally, the Ningbo Intermediate People's Court affirmed the defendant's infringement actions, and decided that the amounts of the compensation are RMB 1 million, RMB 1 million, RMB 600,000 respectively for the 3 patents, wherein RMB 1 million is the maximum amount of compensation by Judge's discretion in accordance with the Chinese Patent Law.
